By registering for Tails of the World book, you’ll have the chance to showcase your dog’s individuality in stunning images that you will cherish for years to come. But that’s not all – half of your registration fee will also be donated to a charity that supports animals in need, the I Heart Dogs Rescue and Animal Haven.

 “Tails of the World”

An international book featuring pets from around the world.  And your pet can be one of them!

Here’s the scoop:

I’m representing Metro Detroit in the upcoming book, Tails of the World and I’ll be showcasing 10 local dogs.  Will yours be one of them?

It’s simple. Your pup will enjoy a short photoshoot, filled with treats (and laughs).

Photo sessions will be held at various parks in southeastern MI.

As one of the selected international pet photographers, Firefly Pet Photography will select one image from your photoshoot to be featured in the Tails of the World book.

And BONUS!  The registration fees are being donated to a local animal charity, I Heart Dogs Rescue and Animal Haven.

The process:

Just a few simple steps, and I’ll walk you through each one

Register

Select your date/location from the options below.  Choose your date and then time.  Pay the registration fee to hold your spot.

Photoshoot

Have a great time hanging out while I make crazy noises, give your pet lots of yummy treats, and get amazing images.

Design

You’ll get to see the results from the photoshoot on a Zoom call and see which image was selected for the book.  Additional images available for purchase, starting a $250.

What if I have 2 (or more) pets? – We should be able to get a great image of up to 2 dogs at our appointment.  For more than 2 dogs please book 2 back to back sessions. Contact Jen@Fireflypetphotography.com for more info
Does  my dog need to be well trained? – LOL, heck no!  It does help if they know how to sit but I’m used to working with all kinds of dogs (including my own) that are not perfectly trained.
 
What if my dog needs to stay on a leash?  No worries, leashes can be erased out of most images.  Harnesses will most likely stay in the photo.  This goes for cats as well, they should be on leash if outdoors.  I also have some very long leashes that will allow for more movement while maintaining safety.
 
Can my cat be a part of the book?  Yes, as long as we can safely hold the photoshoot outdoors.  This goes for any kind of pet with a tail.
 
Can I be in the photos?  It depends.  The Tails of the World book will be featuring images of just the pets and given the shorter session time we may not have the chance to include humans in the images.  But I will if we can.
 
Is the book included in my registration?  No, as the publishing of the book is out of my hands and the full registration fee is being donated to charity a copy of the book is not included.  You will be able to purchase copies of the book when they are available in the fall of 2025.  The estimated cost per book is $100.
 
Do I get to choose which photo goes in the book?  

To get a good variety of images for my portfolio in the Tails of the World book I’ll be selecting the image from your photoshoot.  

 
Do I have to buy additional images or artwork?  No, but fair warning, you’ll want to!  You’ll have a variety of images to choose from, and they start at $250 each.  Most clients spend between $800 and $2000.
