The 2025 Firefly Pet of the Year Voting is Closed

Yappy New Year! Last year went by so blooming fast!
But now that the 2025 season is complete, it’s time for one of my favorite traditions: the Firefly Pet of the Year Client Appreciation Contest….and who wins is entirely up to you (because there’s no way I could pick just one).

Voting comes with perks:

Every voter will receive the Weekly Pupdate which is filled with pet-friendly places, local events, and fun things to do. It comes out every Wednesday afternoon.

🗳 How to Vote (It’s Easy!)
Step 1:
Scroll through the amazing contestants and choose your favorite. Pets are listed alphabetically.
If there’s more than one pet in a listing, names are ordered alphabetically as well.
You’re welcome to vote for your own pet but just one vote per person, please. (Sorry, pups aren’t allowed to vote.)
Step 2:
Click the “Vote Here” button and select your chosen pet from the dropdown menu.
Double-check names if there are similar ones, hit submit, and you’re done!
📬 Don’t forget to peek in your spam folder for your confirmation email and you won’t want to miss what’s inside.
⏰ Voting has been extended to midnight EST on January 20, 2026 (still weird to write 2026, right?), so don’t wait and don’t forget to share the love before voting closes!

The 2025 Pet of the Year Contest runs until midnight on January 20th, 2026 (all times EST) and the winner will be announced in the Weekly Pupdate on January 21st.
Only one vote per email address.
The winner of the 2025 Firefly Pet of the Year prize will receive a $500 artwork credit voucher to use toward a new pet portrait session or toward new artwork from a previous Firefly session. The Pet of the Year winner will be determined by the highest number of votes received. In the event of a tie between multiple pets, the winner will be selected by random draw.
The Pet of the Year winner may be located in Michigan or Charleston, SC.
Charleston-based winning pets must be available for a session held between March 18 and April 3, 2026, when I’ll be in Charleston for a limited time.
One lucky voter will also receive a Firefly Pet Photography Experience with $500 product credit, selected by random draw.
Michigan-based voters may use the voucher locally
Charleston-based voters may use the voucher toward a session held March 18–April 3, 2026
Voters outside of Michigan and Charleston are still very welcome to participate and vote
By voting in this contest, you agree to receive emails from Firefly Pet Photography, including my Weekly Pupdate that is released every Wednesday afternoon, filled with pet-friendly places, events, and fun things to do. Unsubscribing is easy (though it may result in a few sad puppy-dog eyes), and you’ll miss out on being part of the fun.

Hi! I’m Jennifer, or Auntie Jen to any pup I meet 🙂
A trained wine sommelier turned professional pet photographer, I’m also chief butler to our dogs and cats (as well as the occasional foster). I love am obsessed with animals, travel, photography, wine, Disney, and gardening. Any combination of at least 2 and I’m in!
Firefly Pet Photography was started in 2018, from my work with animal rescue. I’ve fostered over 100 cats and dogs and donate as much as I can to help animals. This has given me the opportunity to learn about animal behavior, which is important for pet photography because I want to make sure your pet is comfortable and relaxed, even if they are shy or “quirky”.
And I also understand how important it is to have images WITH our pets, as well as images of our pets in a place where we can enjoy them every day (not locked in cell phone jail). I guess you could say that I’m a photographer for both ends of the leash!
I’ve taken my photography and animal behavior expertise to create a pet photography experience, allowing you to enjoy the time with your pet in a beautiful location, selected just for you. And of course I’ll sprinkle in some extra pixie dust along the way. My only “rule” at a photoshoot is that your pet can do no wrong.
