Holiday Gift Guide for Pet People – Made in Michigan
Looking for that perfect holiday gift for a pet lover? Or maybe you need a little retail therapy for yourself or gift ideas for your own pet 🙂
Here are some of my favorite ideas that also support Michigan businesses. I’m not receiving anything from these companies (except for my own products that are listed), these are just gift ideas that I would personally recommend to my friends in one handy spot. So if you’re looking for holiday gift ideas for pets and their people you’re in the right place!
Dog treats and accessories:
Dog Gone Delicious –
Why I love this – locally made and you know exactly what’s in these treats. My pups give them two paws up.
Fluff and Tuff toys –
Why I love this – made in Michigan, cute toys, and they support animal charities. Win, win, win! And who can resist this hashtag campaign? #IGiveAFLuff
Spotted Nose –
Why I love this – female owned store with vegan leash options in lots of colors.
Injoya Snuffle Mat –
Why I love this – these are hands down the most adorable snuffle mats you’ll find. Keep your pet (cats, too!) mentally stimulated and happy during these cold months by using these mats.
Oliver’s Beer Biscuits –
Why I love this – recycling beer ingredients (spent grains) into treats that dogs love. And while giving back has always been a core of Oliver’s Beer Biscuits they’ve expanded into their own foundation, Oliver’s Foundation, to fight pet homelessness.
For the cozy home:
The Black Dog Candle Co –
Why I love this – these look good and make your home smell nice. Keep one on hand if you need a last-minute gift (these also make great sympathy gifts). You can select your favorite breed or dog quote.
Vintage Dog Posters-
Why I love this – made in Michigan by a local graphic designer Mike Erway, you can select one of the ready-made posters (my favorite is the Bernese Mountain Dog) or have a custom vintage travel-style poster created for you with your own images.
Custom Engraved Dog Bowls – for the spoiled dog while keeping with your kitchen theme!
Custom Sweatshirt with your pet’s photo – I loved this cozy sweatshirt! Even better, you can get your pet’s photo and name put on it so they’re with you wherever you go.
Custom Christmas ornament with your dog’s name – of course, your dog is a part of all of the holiday celebrations.
Shelter in Home Photo Book –
Why I love this – complete transparency, I love this book because I created it! Inspired by the amazing people who adopted pets during the pandemic, this book features images and stories of how rescue pets helped their humans through the shelter-in-place experience during the pandemic. Supporting Do Only Good dog rescue, this book will look great on any bookshelf or coffee table.
Pet photoshoot with Firefly Pet Photography –
Why I love this – I believe that pets are family, and everyone should have family photos. Experience an amazing photoshoot while capturing those magic moments with your pups, and enjoy your images in your home forever.
My Favorite Things
These are some of my personal favorites, though they are not made in Michigan.
Heated Jacket –
Why I love this- Stay toasty warm on your winter walks with these heated jackets. It’s not an exaggeration to say that they are life-changing!
Freeze Dried Turkey Heart treats –
Why I love this- Single ingredient, which is great for pets with allergies or certain health conditions, most dogs can’t resist these treats. These are always my favorite treats at my photoshoots.
Dog Bows from the Foggy Dog –
Why I love this – Classic and elegant, I love the colors and luxurious fabrics of the bows. I’ve ordered quite a few of these to have on hand at photoshoots.
Disney Dog Mom t-shirt –
Why I love this – it combines Disney and dogs, does it get any better than that?
Doo Loop –
Why I love this – made in America, this will make walking your dog a better experience since you won’t be left holding the bag, literally.
Walking app –
Why I love this – keep motivated to walk your pups by joining a challenge or selecting a world famous route to enjoy. The app includes photos of the actual hikes so you can pretend you’re there, even when you’re walking in your own neighborhood.
Dog Walker Board game – .
Why I love this – this game is still in Kickstarter mode but I cannot wait for it to arrive (which should be summer of next year). Perfect for anyone who loves dogs and games. You can still get in on the pre-orders for this artistic game.
